I have been kinda lurking in the background on the blogs looking for an appropriate place to start. Maybe this is the place.

I also wanted to brag a little bit. For the first time since I have had trouble with my now amputated leg, I was hit on by a nice looking lady in the supermarket last week. Turned out she was looking for a ride home as she did not have a car. Later I thought to myself, 'she sure hit on the wrong guy'. I guess we both were a little disappointed.

All men tends to have trouble on dating sites.I think there are a lot of women and very few men (in proportion)on these sites.I read somewhere a woman may get as many as 100 e-mails when she post a profile and a man only maybe 1 on these dating sites. As for your photo,at least you got one. Some do not.I also am handicapped.Believe me,I have trouble too on these sites.I think it is common for a man.I do not know your distance preference is,however if it is narrow, you may want to widen it.After all,the person may not be where you are.Good luck.

Ihear what you are saying but when the gentleman we discussed before found himself alone after 30 years of marriage he thought his life was over.  He went on a tour of Australia in a hand-powered wheelchair and had a blast.  I think he was trying to wear his heart out but instead he came home, met a wonderful woman and was re-married in less than a year.  A little faith and effort yield great rewards....at least in his case.  Good luck

i am sorry that my explanation regarding my photo did not satisfy helena[for what it's worth.it had just been washed and the sun stained it]no matter.kudos to her father-in-law for excelling at wheel-chair basketball, which requires that one be in very good shape.but my blog was about the problems the physically handicapped face in dating able-bodied persons not regarding their ability to lead active fulfilling lives.perhaps she has helped me make my point ,in some small manner

You must be joking.  My father in law is disabled, plays wheelchair basket ball and is in remarkable shape. He would not be posting a picture of himself in a mouldy T-shirt that probably stinks - why apologize when you can take another photo to post.  Perhpas the sentiments are a tad contrived for whatever reason ...................good luck but you could seriously try a little harder if you truly wanted to put  yourself out there.
